Fading and Paying

To continue the story of the Hitler Jetta.... Jeff drives 4 days straight and the car decides to die the last 5 hours 😖 And of course it didn't just overheat, it went out in great fashion by snapping the toking belt, bending valves to pistons, and becoming completely inoperable. How lucky are we?  Luckily, I had booked a hotel already, so we got Jeff in for a bed in the night and he camped out for the night. The next day the mechanic says to Jeff that not only did it cost us $1300 and a day to repair the belt, they forgot all the other things broken. These broken things would add an additional $1500 to the bill and a week of work. At that we cut our losses and left everything we couldn't fit in the rental car in Amarillo and got Jeffrey home.
We have been borrowing Jill's friends beater car- literally a flash back to high school, 1990's Mitsubishi with the squeaky doors and the smell. And all the heat that came with it. We are super grateful for their generosity but we needed something that Easton would be safe in and fast. We had planned on buying a different friend of Jill's 2008 Hyundai Veracruz, we really liked the car. We got the loan set up, date set to buy it- and after getting the mechanical inspection, we found out there was a lot more wrong than they had anticipated and we didn't want something we would have to pay for in the end. So we ended up passing last second. The Day we looked at the Vera Cruz, we ended up going to a used car dealership afterwards just to make sure we weren't missing anything. We ended up at Hyundai just by way of Jill took us there haha. We looked around in the back and saw a couple cars and they showed us one that was COMPLETELY torn apart because they were fixing it for hail damage but it was pretty nice. We left, planning on buying the Vera Cruz. Saving our money.... turns out we ended up coming back to that dismembered Santa Fe, we (I) kept coming back to it. We looked at Tons of cars and I just kept thinking about that one.

Friday, the 26th, we set the day aside to go look at more cars. Hit up some dealerships, car max, the whole nine yards. After going to Car max, our first stop, it was SOOO HOT that we called it quits for Easton and took him to Jills office. Thanks Jill! We then went and looked at a RAV at the used Toyota dealership. It was nice, very fun to drive, had hail damage so it was a steal of a deal on a RAV but they weren't going to fix any of the damage and upcharged the final cost at being 15,000$$$ 😬😬😬😬 SORRY! What?!? It was nice but not that nice! After that we came back to the drawing board and Jill made a call to where she got her car recently. We went to Crest and they had several options they let us drive, okay, two Muranos, crap cars they try to get rid of. We drove a Ford Edge and I would've LOVEd to drive the subaru but they were all in shambles! It was so embarrassing haha. At this point, Jeff and I are STARVING, HOT, stinky, and tired. I was losing ground. We were deflated but again, kept thinking about that Santa Fe. So we head to huffines, hoping it's still there. Sure enough it was! So we said, we want it- give us the best deal. We walked out the door with a 2011 Santa Fe limited and we LOVVVEEE IT. After sitting in Huffines for 1.5 hours, with no food in my belly I was starting to go delirious lol. I apparently zoned out a few times and started singing songs and staring into space😂 I was fading lol. The poor guy gave me some trail mix, which I ate the mms out of and gave the rest to Jeff. Tony McLoud, you're the man. That held me over the remainder of the wait but I was still losing it. After signing our life away, we continued to wait- my bladder was sufficiently full, and we wrote a check for the car and drove it home.

We have seriously loved this car. The leather seats, the cargo space (already coming in serious handy), the space in general, Bluetooth music baby, and fairly decent mileage, and not to mention a timing CHAIN! Not a belt! *selling point*.
We may be a whole lot poorer but we are going to be safe, happy, and all riding in the same car with AC! Haha

 It's aaahhh---mazing!
